Understanding the UPPSC PCS Exam

The UPPSC exam is designed to select capable intellectually minded individuals for the administrative roles in Uttar Pradesh. It covers very important positions like Deputy Collector, Revenue Officer in State Government. The exam is very competitive. According to recent data, every year thousands of experienced candidates apply for it but only 10 to 15% get success. Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet a specific age limit and educational qualification to apply. Generally, the age limit is between 21 to 40 and there are some relaxations for reserved categories. For educational qualification, candidates must have a graduation degree from a recognized university.

Syllabus

General Studies Paper I and II: These papers cover a mix of static topics and current events. Paper I includes questions from History, Geography, Indian Politics, economy and Environmental Issues. Paper II focuses on current affairs, international relations, and science and technology. Staying updated with news and revising fundamentals is key.

Preparation Strategies

Time Management: Break the entire syllabus into manageable parts and assign time slots for each subject. Focus on difficult topics and revise regularly for better retention.

Resources and Study Material: Choose standard books, NCERT textbooks, coaching notes, and online resources. Reading newspapers, current affairs magazines, and government reports is essential. Give attention to government schemes and policies as well.

Practice and Revision Technique: Solve previous year papers, take mock tests, and practice answer writing daily to develop clarity and structure. Make concise notes for last-minute revision.

Important Note

• The UPPSC PCS Mains admit card was released on 19 June 2025 for exams held from 29 June to 2 July 2025, in two shifts each day: morning (9 AM–12 PM) and afternoon (2:30 PM–5:30 PM) .
• A total of 15,066 candidates shortlisted from Prelims are eligible to appear for 220 PCS vacancies.
• Admit card includes exam date, shift timing, Centre details, reporting time, and important instructions.

• Enter your Registration Number or OTR/Enrollment Number and Date of Birth/Captcha; submit to view your hall ticket.
