  • SBI Clerk is also known as Junior Associate, their main job is to have direct contact with the customers in the banks and their main role is to handle the daily work of the branch. Their day-to-day tasks include resolving queries related to customer accounts, making cash deposits and withdrawals, printing passbooks, clearing cheques and issuing demand drafts. Apart from this, they also have a role in facilitating services like opening new accounts, KYC documentation, fixed deposits and locker allotment. Apart from these tasks, SBI clerk is also required to perform tasks like record management, account verification, data entry and account updation at the branch. And sometimes they may also be assigned the task of marketing or making customers aware about other schemes of the bank. The SBI Clerk plays a very crucial role in ensuring the satisfaction of the customers and in keeping the banking system running smoothly.

  • SBI Clerk or Junior Associate recruitment process takes place in three stages. Which are as follows:
  • 1. Prelims Exam: It has three sections, 30 questions from English Language, 35 questions from Numerical Ability and 35 questions from Reasoning Ability. Total 100 questions carrying 100 marks. The exam is of 60 minutes, 20-20 minutes for each section. There is a negative marking of 1/4th mark for each wrong answer. This stage is only necessary to qualify.
  • 2. Mains Exam: It has four sections: 50 questions from General/Financial Awareness, 40 from General English, 50 from Quantitative Aptitude and 50 from Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude. The duration of this exam is 2 hours and 40 minutes. The time allotted for each section is different. In this also there is negative marking of ¼, final merit is made on the basis of this stage.
  • 3. Local Language Test: People who are not proficient in the local language are required to pass this test.
  • This exam is completely computer based and each stage is different in which the merit list mainly depends on the performance in the mains exam.

SBI Clerk(Junior Associate) Eligibility Criteria

• For educational qualification, candidates must have a graduation degree from a recognized university.
• The age limit for SBI Clerk is between 20 years to 28 years as on 01/04/2025
• Candidates are also required to have knowledge of the local language of the concerned state.
