Introduction

Assistant Loco Pilot is a very reputed and responsible job in Indian Railways. After selection, a candidate works as an Assistant Loco Pilot for approximately 2 years before becoming eligible for promotion.

• Age Limit: 18 to 30 years
• Educational Qualification: High School with ITI certificate (in relevant trade) or a 3-year diploma in engineering

Understanding the Training and Induction Process

• Every selected ALP goes through a full training program. This training gets you ready for your role. It teaches you what you need to know and do. You have to join classes regularly after selection  it will teach you everything related to your ALP job.

Phase 1: Foundational Training at Training Institutes

• Your first training happens at special railway centers. Here, you learn the basics. You study railway rules, how signals work, and the parts of a locomotive.
