The selection process of the exam involver three stages:

• Tier 1: Objective Test: Exam lasts 60 minutes that includes 100 multiple-choice questions on General Intelligence, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Language, 25 questions in each sections. Negative marking also applies for wrong answers.

• Tier 2: Descriptive Paper
  A written exam to test your writing skills in your preferred language(English or Hindi). This tests how clearly and correctly you can express your ideas.

• Skill/Typing Test
  For roles like Data Entry Operator, you’ll need to demonstrate typing speed and accuracy. This stage is crucial for final selection.

Tier 1 Syllabus 

• General Intelligence and Reasoning: Puzzles, coding-decoding, verbal and non-verbal reasoning, analogies, and number series.
• General Awareness: Current affairs, history, geography, polity, and basic science.
• Quantitative Aptitude: Number systems, algebra, profit-loss, percentages, averages, and simple geometry.
• English Language: Grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and sentence improvement.

Recently their has been more weightage on current affairs and reasoning questions, so make sure to stay updated with news and practice reasoning puzzles regularly.

Tier 2 Syllabus 

Tier-2 is heavily focused on your language skills. The descriptive paper usually asks for a letter or application in about 150-200 words. Focus on clarity, grammar, and proper flow of ideas. 

Skill and Typing Tests

For some of the posts like Data Entry Operators and Postal Assistants, your typing speed should ideally be 35 words per minute (wpm) for English and 30 wpm for Hindi. Accuracy is equally essential to avoid losing marks.
