Introduction

For all the candidates who want to make their teaching career in Rajasthan, RPSC School Lecturer Exam is a key step. Rajasthan Public Service Commission conducts the School Lecturer exam to recruit qualified teachers in government higher secondary schools. The exam tests your subject knowledge as well as your teaching aptitude.

Eligibility Criteria

To appear in the RPSC School Lecturer exam, candidates have to meet certain qualifications. Usually, a post graduate degree is required in any subject. For most subjects, a B.Ed or comparable teaching degree is also mandatory. The age limit is usually between 21 to 40 years and there is relaxation for reserved categories. While candidates from outside Rajasthan can apply, only Rajasthan domicile candidates are eligible for reservation benefits.

Exam Pattern and Structure

RPSC School Lecturer exam is conducted in two papers:

• Paper I: It focuses on general awareness, teaching aptitude and reasoning.
• Paper II: It is subject specific and tests your academic discipline knowledge.

Syllabus

Paper I syllabus are as below:

• Rajasthan’s History, Culture and Geography
• Indian history and polity
• Teaching Methodology and Educational Psychology
• Reasoning Verbal and Nonverbal
• General knowledge about current events

Paper II syllabus are as below:

It focuses on your chosen subject and covers the entire syllabus which is prescribed by the NCERT curriculum. Topics may vary according to the subject but generally it includes core concepts, recent developments and pedagogical approaches for effective teaching.

Preparation Strategies for RPSC School Lecturer Exam

• It is very important to craft a realistic time table.
• You should dedicate specific hours for core subjects, revision and practice.
• Select trusted books and online courses for each subject. Books by recommended authors, NCERT textbooks and coaching materials can help a lot.
• Instead of rote learning you should focus more on understanding the concepts.
• Important questions of the previous year should be highlighted and mock tests should be taken from time to time.
• You should maintain discipline for your study plan and also take short breaks from time to time.
